- My ideal classroom is one that utilizes slightly uncommon structures to create a more open, interactive environment. From experience, I find that seventh graders are social creatures and tend to react better in learning environments with easy collaborations and hands-on experiences to keep their attention and focus at their peaks. I feel that individual desks should be substituted with larger tables to make the classroom feel more comfortable, and that a circular approach to the layout as far as student-teacher alignment will help keep students on task as well as make them feel as if the instructor is more approachable because they are included in the circle instead of at a center point. Due to my idea of a more hands-on experience helping with learning, I feel that space should be allowed for students to be able to do a multitude of things; small skits, projector usage, interactive whiteboards, or other interactive activities.
